TMJ Splint
A TMJ splint or “night guard” is worn stabilize the temporomandibular joint, reduce jaw muscle tension and protect teeth. Wearing a splint at night gives over worked muscles an chance to rest. The lower jaw is free to travel in any position without the teeth signaling where to slide. For people who have bruxism this helps save the teeth from getting flat. For people that clench this helps relieve pain full “biting” muscles.
